Youth and Family Lead Counsellor

We are looking for an experienced youth-oriented and community-focused Youth and Family Lead Counsellor – someone who can carry a case load whilst also providing leadership to less experienced counsellors, therapists and interns.
Bridging the Gap is located in St Marys. Working within, and providing team leadership of, a multi-disciplinary team you will counsel young people 12-18 years and their families who typically present with anxiety, depression, relationship & family conflicts.

Interventions can be up to 6 months allowing time for healing and growth.

What we need from you:
- A passion to make a difference in young people’s lives
- Experience providing clinical services to young people aged 12 – 18 years and their families
- Available 2 days per week, 11am to 7pm
- A commitment to Bridging the Gap’s Vision and Values
Criteria:
- Masters degree in Counselling or similar (essential)
- Current registration currency with ACA, CCAA, PACFA, or similar (essential)
- ACA Level 3 or similar (preferred)
- Experience in adolescent &/or family counselling (at least 2 years essential, greater preferred)
- Experience working across a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, gender identity, neurodiversity, family relationships, domestic violence, parental drug and alcohol misuse, parenting skills, school and learning difficulties (preferred)
- Knowledge of current child protection, work health & safety and privacy legislation (essential)
- Excellent organisational skills (essential)
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment (essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (essential)
- Capable with technology – Client Management Systems, Word, Excel, and Outlook (essential)
- Can demonstrate a value for Christian faith community.
- Successful candidates will need to provide current (i) Working with Children Check (ii) Police Check and (iii) Current NDIS worker clearance
