Board members are required to attend bi-monthly meetings at our St Marys office and ideally would possess the following qualities:
- Strong Christian commitment
- Passion and commitment to serve
- Team player
- Strategic thinker
- Strong communication skills
- Support the mission and vision of Bridging the Gap
A background in the following would be advantageous, but not essential:
- Previous Board experience
- Social work
- Legal services
Bridging the Gap serves the community by focusing on empowering people through building capacity in families and their children, providing opportunities to heal, to learn and build/rebuild relationships.
Our vision is to honour God by serving people and building hope in those who are struggling, abused, addicted, disabled, homeless, neglected, lonely, disadvantaged or hurting in our community.
We believe every individual is of worth and we offer respect filled relationships. Bridging the Gap values integrity and is accountable in all that we do.
Our strategy is to offer opportunities for healing, learning and growth and to empower people by increasing knowledge, skills, health, education, connectedness and employment opportunities in a safe, respect filled environment.
Bridging the Gap and its staff aim to support and develop people through community development projects, early intervention programs, adolescent & family counselling, youth programs and family support.
Bridging the Gap and its mission and values are founded upon the word of God.
